RADIOGRAPHY NDT / NDE
Radiographic Examination is a form of non-destructive testing (NDT) that involves the use of penetrating X (generated x-ray) or Gamma (Iridium 192) radiation to examine parts and products (welds) for flaws that could be detrimental to their intended use.

At Buffalo, our highly experienced radiographers are extremely capable in employing many specialty techniques involving geometrically-challenging parts and pieces, often-times where other companies cannot offer working solutions. Buffalo Inspection Services provides radiography services in both our shooting bays and in the field right at the customer’s location.
Bunker & Darkroom
At Buffalo, our large concrete wall exposure bay allows for clients to bring their specimens to us to have them examined. Our bunker has been engineered to provide safety to surrounding areas while offering a large enough space to allow for a wide variety of pieces to be examined. Our full time knowledgeable staff will be happy to help you with any questions you may have while you wait. Our main office located in Edmonton features a large darkroom outfitted with two Colenta INDX 43 2.0b Industrial X-Ray Processors. These processors are at the top of their class and were designed to meet the highest quality requirements for processing of industrial X-ray films. A special NDT-film developer / fixer crossover guarantees an absolute even processing across entire film, dedicating these units to be used for the most delicate jobs in the NDT industry. These high production processors will maximize quality while minimizing waits!

Buffalo has six principle locations of business providing a full spectrum of inspection services. These locations are Edmonton (Corporate Office), Red Deer, Grande Prairie, Fort St John BC, Kelowna BC, and Estevan, SK. along with independent Contractor teams that work directly with our in-house Quality and Safety Managers to ensure a consistent level of service and competitive reach across most of Western Canada. Buffalo’s fleet includes over 115 mobile units serving Western Canada.
Film Digitization
At Buffalo Inspection Services, we are continually introducing value-added services to our NDT services. One such service, is our digitizing capability. We have constructed a special digitizing/film-reading room to accommodate the digital processing of large quantities of radiography film.

VIDAR’s NDT PRO Industrial Film Digitizer offers the NDT market a more cost effective alternative for digitizing film. With VIDAR’s next-generation proprietary High Definition CCD (HD-CCD) technology, and its unique ADC (Automatic Digitizer Calibration) feature, there is virtually no variation in image quality and ensures excellent gray scale reproduction in every image.
